New Road Signs: How will they help reduce the accident

On Ukrainian roads, drivers are increasingly noticed by new round signs with green wading and black numbers on a white background. According to Mauto , it is not a speed limit, but the recommended speed is a new element of road infrastructure aimed at improving safety.

Such plates are optional, but contain important information for drivers. They are set at high risk: near schools, kindergartens, residential quarters or in difficult turns. Drivers are urged to lower the speed and be more attentive, although there is no fine for exceeding the recommended value.

Similar practice has long been used in European countries - in particular in Germany and Norway. There, such signs are of the same advisory nature, but have a good effect on traffic discipline in potentially dangerous areas.

Against the background of increased traffic violations in the capital - only since the beginning of July, patrols have issued more than 14,000 regulations - such initiatives seem as an attempt to change the behavior of drivers not only punitive but also in information methods.
