New opportunities to join the Armed Forces, contract service without summons for Ukrainians

Ukrainians who voluntarily apply to the TCC and SP without a summons will have the opportunity to sign a contract for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to this contract, their enlistment for military service will be held for a period of one year. After this period, they will be eligible for dismissal.

Fedir Venislavskyi, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, reported on the possibility of concluding a service contract without receiving a summons. According to him, such persons will not be considered mobilized and will have the right to vacation after the end of the year of work.

"If a person has received a summons, he is subject to mobilization. However, if she came to us voluntarily, she has the right to sign a contract for military service. Such a person will be considered as a contractor and will have the right to enter into a contract for one year," explained Venislavskyi.

He also noted that after the end of the year of service under the contract, the person will have the opportunity to be dismissed. This mechanism is provided for those who have decided to voluntarily join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"This opportunity is established for those who independently decided to serve in the army," he added.

The provision for dismissal after 36 months of service was excluded from the bill on strengthening mobilization. As a result, dismissal from service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is currently impossible even for those who joined voluntarily at the beginning of the war.

At the moment, any person who appears in the TCC can receive a summons and is subject to mobilization. The only relaxation concerns those who arrive without a summons to clarify data. According to the government's decision, they cannot be sent immediately for a medical examination, but must issue a separate summons.
