The appointment of Vladilena Sokyrsky by the temporary acting rector of the Uman National University has caused a wave of indignation among scientists, educators and even military. Despite the alarming history of scandals, unverified scientific activities and dubious management methods, it was she who received the order of the Ministry of Education and Science to lead the university for the period before the competition.
The appointment of Sokyrsky took place against the backdrop of rumors about the possible unification of two Uman universities - UNU and Uman State Pedagogical University. Paul Tychyna. The university believes that the association can lead to the destruction of the institution, and in their opinion, the ax is a "instrument" in this game.
According to the local educational community, the career of Sokyrsk began in the comprehensive school №14 in Uman, from where it was allegedly released for improper treatment of students - up to probable beating. After that, she went to Uman Pedagogical University, where she quickly made her career, in particular - defended her dissertation early two years after joining postgraduate studies.
In 2015, Sokyrsk became a vice -rector for the rectories of Alexander Bezlumny. According to her former colleagues, she exerted systematic pressure on employees, created a toxic atmosphere, forcing experts to be released.
Particular resonance was caused by paid "internships" abroad, organized by the ax allegedly for 700 euros per person - at a substantially lower cost, which caused suspicion of fraud.
During her activities, Sokirskaya built an estate in the village of Polyanetske, which is confirmed by its declaration. In 2018, she was released, then sued the university, calling her release "1937" and "repression", but lost (case 705/4145/15-c).
In 2020, she tried to return to the rector's chair, receiving only 6.2% of support. After that, she was destined to challenge the election results, but again unsuccessfully (the case 580/4554/20).
According to sources, at least two of its scientific articles have significant textual coincidences with the work of others. In particular, one of them coincides with the dissertation of 2021, and another by 9% with student work. Sokyrskaya is the editor -in -chief of the Consensus magazine, where these materials were published.
At the time of his appointment, Sokyrsk was a teacher at Sumy Pedagogical University, although, according to sources, she did not appear there.
In addition, the Minister of Education Oksen Lisovy received an appeal from a serviceman, which refers to threats from Sokyrskaya, in particular - about combatants.
The university and his employees oppose the unification and against the appointment of Sokyrskaya. The corresponding petition is submitted to the Cabinet website. It mentions not only the conflict history of the ax, but also fears that this appointment is a preparation for the elimination of one of the leading educational institutions of the region.
Whether the authorities listen to the educators, students and the military - time will tell. But the conflict that is born in Uman can be a landmark for all educational reform in Ukraine.
