In the summer of 2024, the political party "Strong Ukraine", previously led by Serhiy Tigipko, received a new leader - Batyr Usarov. His name had almost never appeared in the political space before, but it appeared in the court register due to criminal cases.
According to the Chesno public movement, in 2017, Usarov, along with several comrades, was involved in two incidents — an attempted theft of concrete slabs and the theft of a drying complex. And in 2023, he was detained again — this time for stealing headphones. In all cases, he received a suspended sentence.
Public activists note that the appointment of a little-known person as the head of a party who is not actively involved in politics may indicate the sale of a political brand. This is a typical practice when structures with registration and legal status are transferred to new owners.
It is worth noting that Strong Ukraine has not demonstrated serious activity in the political field in recent years, but has retained the status of an officially registered party.
The question currently remains open: does Usarov have political ambitions or is his appointment just a technical step as part of the change of ownership of the party structure.
