Low level of air pollution in Kyiv, but pay attention to weather conditions

A low level of air pollution was recorded in Kyiv on Friday, however, due to the presence of fog and high humidity, which reaches 97%, city sensors may show increased pollution indicators. This was reported in the Kyiv City State Administration.

"In Kyiv, as of the morning of January 10, the level of air pollution is low, the radiation background is normal, no excesses of polluting substances have been recorded", - reads the message of the KMDA on social networks.

According to the Department of Environmental Protection and Adaptation to Climate Change of the KMDA, there is fog in some places, and the relative humidity is 97%.

"Under such conditions, some air quality monitoring sensors may respond to fog as dust. Such weather conditions can be interpreted as pollution and influence overestimated indicators," the KMDA noted.
