The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov visited the areas of hostilities in the east of the country and announced the need to strengthen certain sections of the front. This was announced by Syrskyi in his Facebook post.
During the visit, the military leaders analyzed in detail the current situation at the front and discussed further steps to ensure the security of the troops. Special attention was paid to protection against drones and airstrikes, as well as strengthening defensive positions.
"The enemy regularly storms the positions of our troops. In many areas, the situation is complex and requires constant control," said Sirskyi .
During the meeting with unit commanders, issues of coordination and operational interaction of all Defense Forces were discussed in order to preserve the lives of servicemen.
It should be noted that this is not the first visit of the leadership of the Armed Forces to the conflict zone. The day before, on February 23, Oleksandr Syrskyi and Rustem Umyerov met with a delegation of US senators to discuss the current situation on the battlefield and the ammunition needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
During a video address on February 13, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi also noted that after visiting "all hot spots of the front", Syrskyi and Umyerov considered the problems arising on the front line and made decisions on their solution.
In the international context, US President Joe Biden also expressed support for Ukraine in providing ammunition, urging the House of Representatives to pass a bipartisan national security bill to provide the country with the necessary resources to fight on the front.
