Ukrainian athlete Oksana Zubkovska brought Ukraine its second gold medal at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Her victory in the long jump was a highlight for the Ukrainian delegation at these competitions.

Zubkovska, 43, has won gold medals in the event and at four previous Paralympics. She also set a world record of 6.60 meters at the 2012 London Paralympics, which still stands today.
How did Oksana Zubkovska perform in Paris?
Ukrainian athlete Oksana Zubkovska took the lead after her first jump of 5.64 meters. Already on her second attempt, she jumped 11 cm further than her rivals and consolidated her lead in the intermediate standings — 5.75 m.
Oksana managed to jump for the “gold” on her fifth attempt — 5.78 meters. This is a personal record of the current season for the Ukrainian. Competitor from Spain Sara Martinez stopped at 5:40.
