Oleksandr and Serhiy Katsuba: Yuri Boyko's "pounds" return to the big game

Brothers Oleksandr and Serhii Katsuba were never independent players and were part of the conditional "Boiko group". Both the brothers' old criminal cases related to the multimillion-dollar embezzlement at NJSC Naftogaz, as well as chances to return to the big game, and possibly big politics, are connected with Yuri Boyko.

After Donald Trump's victory in the presidential race, part of the pro-Russian Ukrainian elite, currently removed from power and corrupt currents, felt the possibility of revenge. In particular, the chance to lift sanctions and regain control over the oil and gas sector of Ukraine has the sanctioned Dmytro Firtash, who, according to Time, handed Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani a package of documents intended to discredit Joe Biden.

If the sanctions against Dmytro Firtash are lifted, he will probably, together with Yuri Boyko, make attempts to regain control over the oil and gas complex of Ukraine, and the leadership positions in this area, as before, may go to the Katsub brothers. It is with the hope of returning to the "big game" that brothers Oleksandr and Serhiy Katsuba are actively whitewashing their reputation on the Internet, doing "charity", while Oleksandr is seeking a full acquittal in his criminal case and has already managed to become an "expert" in the energy industry.

About the criminal case of Oleksandr Katsuba, in which he pleaded guilty and is currently seeking a full acquittal

Oleksandr Katsuba, the ex-deputy chairman of the board of the Naftogaz Ukraine company, one of the participants in the scandalous story of the Boyka Towers , is challenging the six-year-old verdict in an appeal. At the same time, Oleksandr Katsuba fully admitted his guilt, concluded an agreement with the investigation, gave evidence against other participants of the scheme and was released in 2017, having paid 100 million to the budget. According to the media , the court verdict states that Katsuba's actions in various episodes of criminal activity led to state losses in the amount of more than $1 billion. 100 million hryvnias were compensated. at the then exchange rate was about $3.5 million or 0.35% of the total amount of losses.

Currently, in numerous interviews, Oleksandr Katsuba declares his complete non-involvement in large-scale embezzlement at Naftogaz, insisting that he is only one of "hundreds of managers" who did not make independent decisions.

The only thing that the Katsub family cannot explain is how "ordinary managers" managed to earn a luxurious lifestyle. Only the Katsub estate near Kyiv looks more like a medieval castle than an official's residence.

Also, in numerous interviews, Alexander Katsuba does not mention where the "ordinary manager" of Naftogaz, who had no influence on anything and had nothing to do with corruption, got the money for a high-profile wedding near Paris in the Chateau de Chantilly with the participation of such Russian pop stars as Leps and Timati. As the journalists , the organization of the holiday cost the groom more than one million euros.

As you can see, conclusions that Serhiy and Oleksandr Katsuba stole an amount equivalent to a billion US dollars from Naftogaz are not an exaggeration, but are fully confirmed by their lifestyle. And Oleksandr Katsuba could get funds for such a lifestyle exclusively through corruption, since until 2014 he held positions in state structures and did not engage in private business

A talented businessman, a leading expert in the field of energy and the owner of "ALFA GAZ" Oleksandr Katsuba

Simultaneously with the removal of references to old criminal cases from the Internet, on dozens of websites we find information about Oleksandr Katsuba as a "leading expert in the field of energy" and "owner" of the ALFA GAZ company.

Alexander Katsuba's projects as a "talented businessman" include the launch of the MyCredit microcredit program, part of which was sold to banker Serhiy Tygypko for $3 million.

It is worth noting that MyCredit is not a new product, as presented by Oleksandr Katsuba, there are more than enough such projects on the Ukrainian market. MyCredit is an ordinary "quick loan", a tool for quick enrichment at the expense of people in trouble. Against this background, Katsuba's PR attempts at charitable activities look especially cynical.

The next business project that Oleksandr Katsuba likes to talk about is the acquisition in 2021 of the automotive portals "Avtocentr" and "Avtobazaru". These deals were part of his strategy to develop the leasing business, but "the plans were interrupted by the start of a full-scale Russian invasion." At the same time, the full-scale invasion did not prevent hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian entrepreneurs from successfully developing and paying taxes even in a warring state. But, as we can see, this story is not about the "talented businessman" Alexander Katsuba.

Regarding Alexander Katsuba's ownership of the ALFA GAZ company, according to our sources, the company may actually belong to Yuri Boyko, and Katsuba probably plays the role of a "pound", as before in Naftogaz. In any case, on the market Oleksandr Katsuba is not perceived as an independent player, but exclusively as a protégé of Yuri Boyko.

Voluntary activities of Oleksandr Katsuba: charity with Budanov and funding of Sharia

Oleksandr Katsuba's volunteer activity, which consists in handing over a car for GUR to Kyryll Budanov, also deserves special attention. In any case, Katsuba's position is highlighted in this perspective. It is worth noting that the Katsub family is considered one of the biggest sponsors of Anatoly Sharia , and their friendship could be followed on social networks almost until the full-scale invasion. How Oleksandr Katsuba managed to change "Sharia" to "Budanov" so quickly is a rhetorical question.

At the same time, Katsub's charitable activities still brought results. media reports, on July 6, 2022, a new Mercedes-Benz GLE 350D car with number КИ0001РИ crossed the Ugryniv checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border. This combination of numbers, particularly “0001”, is associated with the Katsub family. Journalists found out that the older brother of Oleksandr Katsuba, Serhii, who also went abroad as a humanitarian cargo driver and did not return to Ukraine, was driving the car that day.

As we can see, thanks to Boyko-Firtash, brothers Oleksandr and Serhiy Katsuba can soon return to the big game and once again easily replace Budanov with Sharia.
