Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk, the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world champion, spoke in an interview with Forbes about his preparation for the upcoming fight against Briton Tyson Fury. The fight promises to be historic, as the title of absolute world heavyweight champion is at stake.
In particular, Usyk noted that in the fight he will fight “for the whole country.” According to him, he will be helped by the character of a winner and an “indestructible team.”.
“Now what motivates me is what and how I do it. When you set a goal for yourself and you succeed, it’s very energizing. And when something doesn’t work out, I will always keep going until it does,” the boxer said.
He also shared his impressions of the last days before the fight against Fury:
“You could say that these are media days – communicating with the press, activities that “spread” the fight around the world. But as an athlete, I try to get involved in this less. My main task is boxing. There is also training, about an hour long – mostly cardio and keeping in shape.”.
