Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, known for his sporting achievements and active public stance, attracted public attention with his recent trip to the Moscow Church. The visit took place on August 25, at the Sunday service, which was presided over by Metropolitan Onufriy.
The sportsman visited the temple in the name of Saint Agapit Pechersky, located in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The service was led by Metropolitan Onufriy.
A photo of Usyk among pilgrims appeared on the Lavra website. In the picture, he stands tall among women in headscarves. In the boxer's ear is an earring with a cross.
Oleksandr Usyk is known for his commitment to the Moscow Patriarchate. He has also been spotted at church services in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. In addition, the athlete starred in Oksana Marchenko's propaganda series "Pilgrim".
