Ukrainian gymnast and Olympic medalist Hanna Rizatdinova told how she is raising her son Roman without the help of her ex-husband, former deputy Oleksandr Onyshchenko. According to the athlete, the entire burden fell on her shoulders, because she lives in Kyiv without relatives.
In the program "Closer to the Stars," Rizatdinova shared that her main assistant is her nanny, Valentina, whom she considers part of the family. It is this woman who helps take care of Roman, who will soon be eight years old.
“Our incredible Valya is Roma’s teacher. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the kindergarten ceased to exist, and Valya stayed with us, and we stayed with her. For me, she is a priceless person, because I am alone with Roma. I don’t have a single relative in Kyiv. Even leaving a child is a problem,” Hanna admitted.
Despite her busy schedule, the athlete tries to find a balance between her career and motherhood. She has introduced a tradition of "mother-son day" every Sunday. On this day, they plan leisure activities together, go to the movies, eat their favorite chocolate-covered strawberries or pizza.
“We go to karate, tennis, dance, and English. Roma has everything planned out. He always asks, ‘Where are we going?’ We have our own program — movies, strawberries, pizza. Everything depends on me,” the athlete said.
