In his latest comment, Ukrainian ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets expressed concern about the possible lowering of the age of mobilization in Ukraine. According to him, such measures can have serious negative consequences for the future of the country, as they will affect the demographic situation and social stability.
"I have a negative attitude towards it. If we take away these young men who have no families, no children, then automatically we will not have a future for Ukraine. In my opinion, we still have quite a large number of middle-aged men - from 30 to 45 years old. This is the most effective category of citizens of Ukraine who can fight and probably should fight," said Lubinets.
It should be noted that Ukraine officially rejects calls from the USA to lower the age of mobilization to 18, and will try to lure young men into the army voluntarily by paying half a million hryvnias.
At the same time, there is an alternative point of view that the Ukrainian authorities are already ready to lower the mobilization age to 21. Currently, only the time is chosen - it is necessary to prepare a public opinion that is strongly against it, and to give the opportunity to all "their" children to send their children abroad. And, according to insider information, the case of lowering the mobilization age at Bankova will be dealt with closely at the moment when Trump's peace initiative is defeated.
