A collection of ancient coins was seized at the border in Shegyny

At the Shehyny checkpoint, border guards of the 7th Carpathian detachment discovered a collection of 33 coins from the 19th–20th centuries, reports the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service.

A 28-year-old resident of Poltava region tried to import coins into Ukraine through the "green corridor". During a search of his car, inspectors found a package with a collection. The man explained that he received the coins in Poland and planned to transfer them to Poltava region.

Among the seized numismatic items are coins from Austria, Germany, Italy, Austria-Hungary, and the USA. An administrative report has been drawn up against the man for violating the rules for moving cultural values across the border.
