Despite the fact that the main outflow of the population from Ukraine took place in the first months of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation in 2022, the emigration of Ukrainians continues today. This is evidenced by the updated data of the UN Agency for Refugees and the Ministry of Economy Analytics, published in the monitoring of economic events in March 2025.
As of April 17, 2025, 6.918 million Ukrainian refugees were recorded in the world. Of these, 6.358 million are in European countries, more than half a million - beyond. Since the beginning of 2025, the number of Ukrainians in Europe has increased by more than 100,000 people.

Also, a considerable number of Ukrainians remained in Russia - according to the mid -2022, there were about 1.2 million people, and in Belarus - 44 thousand as of March 2025.

According to a study of the UN Agency for Refugees, conducted in October 2024 - April 2025 among 6471 respondents, 99% of whom are citizens of Ukraine:

Forecasts for the future
The National Bank of Ukraine estimates that in 2024 another 500 thousand people left the country. The forecast for 2025 is an additional outflow of another 200,000 Ukrainians.
However, since 2026 it is expected to start migration: about 200 thousand people will return to Ukraine, and in 2027 - another 500 thousand.
The European Commission predicts a gradual decrease in the number of refugees receiving temporary protection in the EU: from 4.3 million in early 2025 to 3.8 million by the end of 2026.
