According to the British newspaper The Guardian , Donald Trump's advisers are discussing the possibility of a political agreement under which Ukraine could end up under Russian control. A condition for such a scenario is the severance of Moscow's strategic alliance with Beijing.
"Russia has always demanded a demilitarized Ukraine under the actual political control of the Kremlin. There are people in Trump's circle who may agree to this, especially if Russia breaks off its military relations with China," the newspaper writes.
At the same time, journalists are not sure that Putin will abandon the strategic partnership with Xi Jinping "for the sake of an unstable America." "Even sacrificing contacts with Tehran could be a bad deal for Putin," the article says.
