The Ministry of Health has reported new outbreaks of acute intestinal infections in Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions. The increase in the number of cases has been recorded in recent days, which is causing concern in the Ministry of Health.
Acute intestinal infections can be transmitted in various ways: through poor-quality water or food, while swimming in contaminated water bodies, as well as through contact with dirty hands or household items. Children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are at highest risk.
The Ministry of Health calls for adherence to basic hygiene rules, including:
-
wash hands with soap before eating and after using the toilet,
-
do not consume products of dubious origin,
-
avoid swimming in untested bodies of water.
If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or fever appear, you should immediately consult a doctor. The department emphasizes that self-medication can lead to complications.
The Ministry of Health continues to monitor the epidemiological situation and asks citizens to be especially attentive during the summer season, when the risk of intestinal infections traditionally increases.
