Over 1,200 Ukrainians died in road accidents in the first three months of 2025

According to the Patrol Police of Ukraine, in the first three months of 2025 alone, 9,574 road accidents occurred in Ukraine. These accidents killed 1,252 people, and another 11,751 were injured to varying degrees. The highest number of fatal accidents occurred in March.

In January, 1,657 road accidents were recorded. 235 people died and 2,029 were injured as a result of the accidents.

In February, there were already 3,092 accidents - 406 people died, 3,793 were injured.
The worst situation was observed in March - 4,825 accidents, 611 people died and 5,929 were injured.

The main causes of fatal accidents remain speeding, driving into the oncoming lane (not related to overtaking), and violating the rules of the road at unregulated pedestrian crossings. These factors lead to the most serious consequences on the roads.

We will remind you that recently on the Odesa-Reni highway a truck collided with a passenger car - one person died. And in Kyiv, in the Holosiivskyi district, a driver violated the rules of turning, which led to a fatal collision - a passenger died, two more were injured.

This accident rate is a cause for serious concern. Experts are calling on drivers to be extremely careful, and law enforcement agencies are calling on them to step up enforcement of traffic rules.
