In Vinnytsia district, law enforcement officers uncovered a scheme to illegally establish disability. Two doctors — a 47-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son, who work in different departments of one of the municipal medical institutions — were notified of the suspicion.

According to the investigation, in the fall of 2025, doctors offered the man a disability group III for one year for $3,000. To give the procedure the appearance of legality, they organized fictitious inpatient treatment and conducted formal medical examinations. After preparing a package of documents for submission to the expert commission, the “client” was supposed to transfer the agreed amount.
During the transfer of funds, the doctors were detained, and the money was seized as evidence.
In addition, during the authorized searches, over 200 thousand US dollars, 350 thousand hryvnias, and more than 1,700 euros in cash were seized from the suspects. The investigation is currently establishing the origin of these funds and checking the possible involvement of other individuals in the scheme.
The doctors are charged with extortion and receiving illegal benefits for influencing a decision on disability, committed in a prior conspiracy by a group of individuals. Investigators are preparing a petition to the court to impose preventive measures and remove the suspects from their positions.
Operational support in criminal proceedings was provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in Vinnytsia region.
