In his 2022 tax return, Serhiy Taruta declared that he had significant financial assets and real estate in his possession. In particular, he had $1,972,517, €430,000, and £20,000 in cash. He also indicated that he had $1,279,688, $37,564, €22,387, and £5 in bank accounts.
In addition, Taruta declared ownership of over 10,000 various luxury items, art, and antiques. Among them are various icons, paintings, sculptures, ancient maps, amphorae, watches, dishes, as well as coin collections and much more. It is not surprising that he is a co-owner of the PLATAR Museum, which houses thousands of historical artifacts representing different eras and cultures.
Among the most interesting exhibits of Taruta's personal collection are sculptures by the famous Rodin, paintings by Rubens and Bruegel the Elder, a collection of ancient Greek Macedonian coins, jewelry such as earrings with diamonds and sapphires, as well as a Fabergé pin and other valuables. He also owns significant real estate, including houses and apartments in various regions of Ukraine and Crimea.
It is noted that the financial situation of Taruta has undergone significant changes since the occupation of Crimea and part of the Donetsk region in 2014. Despite this, he continues to preserve and expand his property, including unique artifacts and values that are important for the cultural heritage of Ukraine.

The politician estimated gifts from his daughters at 690,444 hryvnias. Serhiy Taruta's wife also received a pension, interest on bank deposits, and gifts worth 74,386 hryvnias.
The MP declared significant financial assets and real estate. He has significant amounts of cash in various currencies, as well as a loan from the company “Aivazovskoe” in the amount of 3 million 541 thousand 758 hryvnias, which was seized by the Russian occupiers in Crimea. The MP’s wife also has significant financial assets and real estate.
In addition, Taruta owns various real estate both in Ukraine and in the temporarily occupied territories, including several houses and apartments in various regions. Some of this real estate may have been confiscated by the occupation authorities.
Serhiy Taruta owns various assets and shares in many companies and organizations. He drives a 2006 Lexus GS 430, which he purchased for 382,956 hryvnias, while his wife owns a 2008 Lexus GX 470, which she purchased for 149,000 hryvnias.
The politician owns a number of shares and stakes in various companies, including Dnipro Metallurgical Plant, Cypriot offshore companies ARROWCREST LIMITED and DARGAMO HOLDINGS LIMITED, as well as Ukrainian enterprises such as “Metalurg Football Club”, “Sokil Kyiv Hockey Club”, “Azovmorservice” and others. He is also the ultimate (co-)owner of numerous offshore companies, including from Cyprus, the British Virgin Islands, Curacao and Anguilla.
The politician also announced his participation in the governing bodies of various public organizations, such as the “International Republican Club”, “Ukrainian Forum”, “Collegium of Anna Yaroslavna Skhid”, “Sports Club of ISD”, “Association of People's Deputies of Ukraine” and the charitable foundation “Platar. In Memory of Serhiy Platonov”.
Serhiy Taruta was born in 1955 in the village of Vinogradne near Mariupol in the Donetsk region. He received his education as a mechanical engineer at the then Zhdanivka Metallurgical Institute (now known as the Azov State Technical University) and as a foreign economic activity manager at the Donetsk State Academy of Management. He began his career at the Azovstal plant.
In 1995, Taruta became one of the founders of the Industrial Union of Donbass (IUD) corporation, together with Oleg Mkrtchyan and Vitaly Haiduk. The corporation specialized in the metallurgical business and financing of football clubs. Taruta also served as a deputy of the Donetsk Regional Council from 1998 to 2006.
In March-October 2014, Taruta headed the Donetsk Regional State Administration. During his administration, he managed to significantly reduce the area of the territory under the control of militants from the “DPR”. Also in 2014, Taruta was elected a People's Deputy of Ukraine, serving in this position until 2019. In 2019, he ran for President of Ukraine from the “Osnova” party, but withdrew his candidacy and supported Yulia Tymoshenko. Currently, Taruta is a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the “Batkivshchyna” political party and the first deputy chairman of the Committee on Economic Development.
