Ukrposhta is introducing new rules for processing international shipments starting in 2026. The changes concern customs declaration, indicating the value of goods, and requirements for packaging parcels.
The company explains that the update is related to bringing procedures into line with international postal standards and strengthening control by customs services of other countries.
One of the key innovations was the mandatory detailed filling out of the customs declaration. Senders must accurately describe each item in the package and avoid general formulations. Incomplete or inaccurate data can lead to a delay in the shipment or additional checks at customs.
Separately, the requirements for indicating the value of investments have been tightened. From now on, it is necessary to indicate the real estimated value of the goods. Underestimating the price may be grounds for returning the parcel or blocking it by customs authorities. Additional restrictions will apply to certain categories of goods, in particular electronics, cosmetics, and food products.
The approach to packaging has also changed. Parcels must meet increased standards of strength and protection during transportation. In case of non-compliance with the requirements, branch employees may refuse to accept the shipment.
Ukrposhta notes that the new rules are aimed at speeding up customs procedures, reducing the number of returns, and increasing the security of international transportation.
