The Parliament was asked to consider three military draft laws

Member of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Iryna Friz, announced that the parliament was recommended to adopt three draft laws in the first reading. These draft laws relate to improving initial joint military training, military record keeping procedures, and expanding the tasks of the State Special Communications regarding the use of drones, electronic warfare, and counterintelligence. "Today, a meeting of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence was held, at which three draft laws under numbers 11144, 11143 and 11092 were considered. The committee recommended all three for the first reading in the parliament," Freese said in a comment to the media.

She specified that, together with her colleague Andrii Parubiy, she supported only the draft law on improving the mechanism of initial combined military training (No. 11092).

In the law "On military duty and military service" it is proposed to make changes, in particular regarding the new title and wording of the 9th article "Initial joint military training". Now it is conducted at the level of full general secondary education and takes place in educational institutions with a license: general secondary, professional (vocational-technical), professional pre-higher and higher education. During the training, the subject "Defense of Ukraine" is also studied and military-patriotic events are held. Defense of Ukraine programs are developed jointly with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Regarding the procedure for keeping military records, the draft law No. 11143 provides for the return to the Register of conscripts, conscripts and reservists of personal data that were withdrawn during the consideration of the draft law on amendments to laws No. 10062, which was supported by the parliament on January 16. The draft law also provides for the return to the Register of information on bringing to administrative responsibility for administrative violations.

Friz stressed that, according to the draft law, the Register also includes information on enforcement of a decision against a debtor, suspected of committing a criminal offense, parents of a conscript, conscript, reservist, guardians, adoptive parents, custodians and children, the date of departure from the borders of Ukraine and the date of return, as well as professional experience.

Draft Law No. 11144 proposes to provide the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection with the opportunity to purchase all unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare equipment and other military and special equipment for the defense sector without exception.
