On Friday, June 13, the State Bureau of Investigation conducted a search in an apartment in Kiev, owned by Gulnas Yuzhaninius - the wife of the son of the People's Deputy from "European Solidarity" Nina Yuzhanina. This was reported by the source of Ukrainian truth in law enforcement agencies.
According to the investigation, the searches are related to criminal proceedings on possible legalization of income from crime. The case file contains a fictitious preliminary contract of sale of housing worth UAH 8 million.
Searches without a court sanction?
The European Solidarity has already responded to law enforcement officers, calling them political persecution. According to the political force, searches were conducted in the presence of three young children - without a court decision and allegedly on the basis of proceedings, which was opened on February 12, 2025 - on the day of imposing sanctions against the fifth President Petro Poroshenko.
"The searches of the son of People's Deputy Nina Yuzhanina are a continuation of the campaign of intimidation of our team," the party said.
The EU also announced the registration of a bill that provides for immediate release of law enforcement officers conducting searches without a judicial sanction.
Sources close to the case report that within the framework of the proceedings the legality of the origin of the funds specified in the contract for the purchase of the apartment is checked. Investigators suspect that the contract was formalized and served as a cover for legalization of previously received income.
The official comment from the State Bureau of Investigation at the time of the publication could not be obtained. The department's press service is refrained from comments.
