In early spring, Ukrainian pensioners will face the traditional indexation of pension payments. If there are no changes in legislation, the pension increase should take place on March 1, 2025.
Who will receive the allowance?
All types of pensions - old-age, disability, long-service, as well as special payments for military and civil servants - will be subject to indexation. The final decision on the percentage increase will be made by the government in February.
How much will pensions increase?
According to lawyer Ivan Khomych, last year pensions increased by 7.96%, and in 2023 - by 19.7%. In 2025, the expected increase may be about 10%.
However, it is worth considering the limitations: even if the calculated increase exceeds 1,500 hryvnias, the pensioner will still receive no more than this amount. The minimum increase is traditionally 100 hryvnias.
Minimum pension and "extras"
The state provides pensioners with a payment of at least UAH 2,361, which corresponds to the subsistence minimum. If the calculated pension amount is lower, the state adds the necessary amount.
Thus, pensioners can expect an increase in payments as early as March, but the exact figures will be known after the relevant government resolution.
