Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth confirmed that the United States has transferred some of its anti-drone systems from Ukraine to the Middle East, he said on Fox News.
According to the US Secretary of Defense, the decision was made as part of an operational response to threats to American personnel in the region.
“I was at a congressional hearing all week. And they asked me, ‘Did you actually transfer anti-UAV systems from Ukraine to the Middle East?’ I said, ‘Yes, we did.’ We are using every means available to protect our people in the region and around the world,” Hegset said.
The minister emphasized that the landscape of modern warfare is changing rapidly, and even small drones pose a serious threat.
"Is it scary? Yes, it is scary. But we have the right people on the ground," he added.
At the same time, it is not officially specified which systems were withdrawn from Ukraine and how this will affect the protection of critical infrastructure in the event of a war with Russia.
