On Thursday, July 24, near the village of Babukhiv in Ivano-Frankivsk region, Yaroslav Rushchyshyn, a People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Holos party, tragically died. The accident occurred at around 9:45 p.m. — the parliamentarian was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and, according to preliminary data, lost control. The motorcycle collided with a tractor moving in the opposite direction.
As reported by the publication "Your City" with reference to the deceased's relatives, Rushchyshyn died during transportation to a medical facility.
Yaroslav Rushchyshyn was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation, secretary of the Committee on Economic Development. He entered politics as a well-known entrepreneur, cultural figure and producer in Lviv. His activities encompassed both business and public initiatives - Rushchyshyn was a co-founder of the Art Association “Dzyga”, the Lviv Business School (LvBS), and an honorary senator of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
In the 1990s, he became one of the drivers of the Lviv cultural scene: together with Markiyan Ivaschyshyn, he was the producer of the bands “Dead Rooster”, “Club of Tea Fans”, “Dzyga Jazz Quartet”, as well as the early projects of “Ocean of Elsa” and Ruslana.
In 2019–2021, he headed the Lviv regional organization of the Holos party.
