Ukrainians who have made special contributions to the Motherland , as well as family members of fallen (deceased) heroes , can count on a guaranteed monthly cash benefit . The amount of such payments depends on the award awarded and is determined by the legislation of Ukraine.

The establishment of a monthly cash payment is provided for persons who took a direct part in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and who, starting from 2014:
- The title of Hero of Ukraine was awarded with the Order of the Golden Star - in the amount of three minimum wages (24 thousand UAH), established on January 1 of the calendar year (based on a monthly basis);
- Awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of three degrees - in the amount of two minimum wages (16 thousand UAH), established on January 1 of the calendar year (based on a monthly basis);
- Awarded the Order "For Courage" of three degrees - in the amount of the minimum wage (8 thousand UAH) established on January 1 of the calendar year (based on a monthly basis);
- Awarded the Order of Princess Olga of three degrees - in the amount of the minimum wage (8 thousand UAH) established on January 1 of the calendar year (based on a monthly basis);
- To family members of deceased (deceased) citizens from among the above-mentioned persons - in the amount of the minimum wage (8 thousand UAH) established on January 1 of the calendar year.
The monthly cash payment is assigned and paid from the date of application for its assignment. The payment is assigned regardless of whether the applicant is registered with the Pension Fund of Ukraine as a pension recipient (monthly lifetime cash support).
The monthly cash payment is established without taking into account the amount of the assigned pension/monthly lifetime cash support, including above the maximum amount established by law. That is, the amount of pension established for a person is limited to 10 subsistence minimums for persons who have lost their ability to work, without taking into account the monthly cash payment.
The payment is set at the minimum wage for all family members and is divided equally between them. Persons who are fully supported by the state in the relevant institution (relevant institution) receive the monthly cash payment in full.
Persons who are simultaneously entitled to receive a monthly cash payment and a pension in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Pensions for Special Merits to Ukraine” or to an increase and/or allowance to a pension or a monthly lifetime cash allowance in accordance with the laws of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection”, “On Victims of Nazi Persecutions”, such payments are made at their choice on one of the grounds.
An application for the assignment of a monthly cash payment and the necessary documents can be submitted using the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or in person by contacting any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine body, regardless of the place of residence, registration or stay.
The right of citizens to monthly cash assistance for services to the Motherland is provided for by the Law of Ukraine dated 07/27/2022 No. 2454-IX “On Monthly Cash Payment to Certain Categories of Citizens”. The procedure for assigning and paying monthly cash payments is determined by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 01/20/2023 No. 79.
