People's deputy Anatolii Gunko and his accomplice are accused of receiving 85,000 dollars for renting land. This information was made public by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The SAP prosecutor sent an indictment to the court based on the results of the NABU pre-trial investigation. This refers to the incident that happened last year, when the deputy and his accomplice are suspected of illegally receiving a profit of 85 thousand dollars during the leasing of state lands to a private enterprise.
It was found out that the deputy, who was also the Chairman of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the VRU on the fight against corruption, may have used his official position to obtain an illegal benefit. He is accused of inciting a representative of a private enterprise to offer a bribe to facilitate the acquisition of land plots. The People's Deputy requested the entrepreneur to hand over the reward in the amount of 221,000 dollars.
After receiving part of the agreed funds, the deputy and his accomplice were exposed red handed. The indictment against the people's deputy and one of his accomplices has been sent to the VAKS for consideration on the merits, and a separate investigation is being conducted against another person due to her wanted status.
