Passed the data of the dead: the former police officer will be tried

The staff of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), with the assistance of the National Police Department, completed a pre -trial investigation into a former law enforcement officer who illegally transmitted closed information to the representatives of the ritual business.

According to the investigation, the worker, working in the law enforcement agency of Zaporozhye, had access to a closed state portal, where information about dead citizens and their relatives was stored. Using this, he decided to sell this data, including the phone numbers, the burial business.

Receiving such information, entrepreneurs immediately contacted the relatives of the dead and offered their services.

For the scheme to work continuously, the former law enforcement officer attracted her wife, giving her a login and password for access to a closed base.

In total, more than 300 cases of transmission of confidential information have been recorded.

The defendant was charged under Part 1 of Art. 361-2 and Part 1 of Art. 182 of the Criminal Code (unauthorized dissemination of restricted information and illegal collection, use, dissemination of confidential information about a person).

The sanction of articles provides for a punishment of up to two years in prison.

The person already released from law enforcement agencies.

Such a crime was previously exposed in Nikolaev, where two law enforcement officers also sold information about dead citizens to the ritual agency.
