In the village of Gryshkivtsi, Zhytomyr region, police detained a 37-year-old local resident who is suspected of murder of a 34-year-old woman. The tragedy happened during a home party, reports the police of Zhytomyr region.
During the feast, a neighbor broke into the company, who immediately grabbed one of the guests and began to brutally beat her on his head and face. The attacker quickly left the apartment, and the rest of those present, while intoxicated, continued to celebrate. Only the next morning did they realize that the woman was already dead.
According to forensic examination, severe traumatic brain injuries were the cause of death.
The suspect was detained in his home. It was previously established that the husband committed the murder in a mistake, confusing the dead with his wife, who had previously left him through a family conflict and moved to another area.
The man was suspected of a premeditated murder. He faces from 7 to 15 years in prison. The investigation is currently underway.
