Alexey Pustovit, the first deputy head of the Central Interregional DMS, was in the spotlight after the publication of his declaration: the official declared almost 5 million hryvnias of cash and bank assets without having a single square meter of housing. All property is issued on his cohabitant - an official of the same service.
As the ABSultation Bureau found out, Pustovit lives in Zazima near Kiev in a spacious area of almost 300 m², officially registered with Maria Garnik - DMS Director of the Department of Citizenship. The couple is not married but raised two sons together. Garnik real estate looks impressive - an apartment in Kiev, a house, a plot and even a non -residential premises, decorated during 1997-2017.
Pustovit also has nothing but the right to use the Audi Q5 car, registered with a relative of his partner. The declaration states that the official uses the car free of charge, although the market value of such a crossover exceeds UAH 800 thousand.
Nevertheless, the official declared significant financial stocks: almost UAH 3 million in accounts and more than 200 thousand in cash. His cohabitant - another UAH 1.7 million. The total amount of assets of the family is UAH 4.76 million, which is more than twice higher than their official annual income (approximately UAH 2.1 million).
Pustovit and Garnik work in the field that is traditionally considered risky in the context of corruption - passport services, residence permit, registration of foreigners. At the same time, they declare a lifestyle that does not correspond to the level of declared income. The lack of joint marriage, the design of property on a partner, as well as the use of someone else's car can indicate the classic scheme of concealment of real wealth for free.
