Petro Poroshenko outlined five "red lines" for Zelensky and Trump

The fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, made a statement in which he outlined five important "red lines" that, in his opinion, should be taken into account by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump.

These key points concern Ukraine's security, sovereignty, and relations with international partners in a difficult political situation. Poroshenko called for these "red lines" to be taken into account as priorities that cannot be crossed in any negotiations or decision-making.

1. He called for not making "compromises on sovereignty" and preventing Ukraine from returning to Russia's zone of influence.

2. He also stated that Ukraine does not recognize the "Russian" status of the occupied territories.

3. Kyiv should not limit the power of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

4. In addition, Poroshenko demands that sanctions against Russia not be lifted until Ukraine returns its territories.

5. And, in his opinion, it is necessary to "convince President Trump" to admit Ukraine to NATO after doing his "homework," because now, the ex-president believes, Ukraine is not ready for membership.

That is, in fact, Poroshenko is calling for an end to the war on the front line, without recognizing Russian jurisdiction over the captured territories, while preserving the statehood of the remaining part of Ukraine in its current form and with a postponed prospect of joining NATO.
