Undeclared funds worth 3.56 million hryvnias were found during a search of the wife of the head of the Main Department of Capital Investments of the Ministry of Defense, who is suspected of acquiring unsubstantiated assets. This became known in the criminal case under Article 368-5, Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code.
The official was appointed to the post in January 2023. According to the investigation, in the period from June 18, 2022 to May 13, 2023, he acquired assets worth 13.86 million hryvnias, the legality of which was not confirmed by evidence and which significantly exceeded his legal income.
In September 2022, a contract for the purchase and sale of an apartment for the price of 3.62 million hryvnias and a parking space was concluded between the Stolytsia Hotel and Entertainment Complex LLC and the official's wife. At the same time, the cost was understated, and the real amount was transferred in cash.
Then the official decided to buy a Lexus LX 570 (2011). On January 31, 2023, his wife acquired the ownership of the car allegedly for 100,000 hryvnias. The Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Examinations provided price information that the car's value is actually 1.5 million hryvnias.
Also, the corruption official's wife purchased a BMW 428I (2015) allegedly for 10,000 hryvnias. The real value of the car was 18.8 thousand dollars (550 thousand hryvnias). The couple officially sold a Nissan Rogue (2018) for 49,000 hryvnias to their father, who resold it for 450,000 hryvnias. At the same time, the real cost of the car was 785,000 hryvnias.
During the search, the woman found funds worth 3.56 million hryvnias, as well as fiscal checks for the purchase of household appliances in the total amount of 1.16 million hryvnias. According to the State Register of Individual Taxpayers, from January to May 2022, the woman's income is 199,000 hryvnias.
