In Ivano-Frankivsk, prosecutors completed a pre-trial investigation and sued a case against two local residents who, according to the investigation, prepared the murder of a woman to order.
As reported in the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, in January 2025, a local resident who was in the process of divorce, decided by force methods to "resolve" a family conflict. Initially, he planned to inflict grievous bodily harm to his wife, but later, together with his accomplice, made a final decision - to deprive her of her life.
To do this, the men found the performer - previously convicted of violent crimes. The plan was estimated at $ 2,000. In order for everything to look realistic, other criminal acts were being prepared: in particular, the suspects were seized an explosive device that was stored illegally.
However, the idea failed. Thanks to the work of law enforcement officers, the attempts were disrupted - all participants in the criminal conspiracy were detained in time. They are in custody.
Currently, the court has been transferred to the court under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: an attempt on premeditated murder committed by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 15, paragraph 11, 12, 12 of Part 2 of Article 115), as well as the illegal purchase and storage of an explosive device (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code).
The case will be considered by the Ivano-Frankivsk City Court. The maximum punishment for incriminated articles is life imprisonment.
