The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, detained five agents of special services of the Russian Federation, which corrected rocket strikes in Ukrainian cities, using ... DVR. The agent group operated in the east, south and west of the country - from Zaporozhye to Khmelnytskyi. The youngest spy was only 16 years old, and the oldest was 23.
As reported in the SBU, all the persons involved were familiar with each other, but acted autonomously. Everyone had one curator from the Russian special service, which coordinated them through Telegram channels. It was because of these resources that the occupiers recruited young Ukrainians who were looking for work on the Internet.
The composition of the group looked like a random company: a student from Zaporozhye, his acquaintance with a boy, as well as two brothers from Kharkiv region. But their activities were far from accidental.
According to the task of Russian curators, they had to establish coordinates for accurate strikes in the defense objects of the Armed Forces in Sumy, Mykolaiv, Zaporozhye, as well as Kyiv, Kharkiv, Khmelnitsky and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Agents traveled to regions, parking cars with DVRs on military facilities and cafes. It was from the cafe that they made observations, checked the equipment, changed memory maps, controlled the record.
The counterintelligence of the SBU predetermined the activities of the spies, documented all stages of criminal activity and only after ensuring the safety of military locations - detained the participants of the agent group at their place of residence.
All defendants were suspected under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - State betrayal in the conditions of martial law. They are threatened with life imprisonment with the confiscation of property. The court has already chosen precautions - detention without the right to pledge.
This case - another reminder of how the danger can be hidden in the most banal things - even in the DVR on the windshield.
