While Kharkiv escapes from the ruins under Russian shelling, the funds that had to go to his restoration were in the pockets of deeds. One of these is Kharkiv businessman Sergey Kryvyi, a person involved in theft of 159.5 million hryvnias, intended for the reconstruction of the city's critical infrastructure. NABU and SAP were investigating his case, Baxa was taken into custody. But as soon as the prison smelled - Kryvyi "mobilized" in the Armed Forces.
In September 2024, the court was forced to suspend the case - because the suspect suddenly became a serviceman. According to the documents, Sergei Kryvyi serves in the 501st separate marine infantry battalion. But in fact, this service is only on paper.
As it became known to journalists, the businessman's stay in the Armed Forces is provided only by system corruption. The commander of the unit Igor Stanko and his deputy Igor Bondar agreed to arrange Kryvyi as a "combat" soldier for a bribe, not even obliging him to even appear in the service.
Kryvyi does not perform any tasks, does not go on a business trip, is in the rear, and his name is simply made to orders and reports on combat work. This allows it to protect it from repeated challenges to court - they say, participation in hostilities makes it impossible for the presence at meetings. Thus, the case is actually blocked.
The cynicism is added by the fact that the command of the part has given Kryvyi ... to the state award. For what - it is difficult to say. For the honest payment of "armor"?
This case once again demonstrates that even in wartime, high -ranking corruption allows you to bypass the law boldly, manipulating the authority of the army. Sergey Kryvyi is not the only one who "serves" for cash. But his story is a prime example of how military duty is turned into a cover for inviolability.
