This year, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) destroyed more than 500 Russian tanks, which were actively used in the occupied territories during shelling and attempts to break through the positions of the Defense Forces.
Operations of the SBU and the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
- Since the beginning of 2023, SBU officers, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), have successfully eliminated over 500 Russian tanks.
- The cost of each destroyed tank, in particular the newest T-90 and T-90M, is almost 5 million US dollars.
Incidents and Applications of the Technique:
- The enemy's equipment was used as part of the so-called "armored fists" to storm the cities of Avdiivka and Bakhmut.
- The involvement of heavy armored vehicles was intended to deter counteroffensive operations by Ukrainian defenders in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions.
Operational cooperation and tactics:
- The effective destruction of Russian tanks was achieved thanks to the meticulous operational and combat operations of the SBU and in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- A powerful arsenal of anti-tank weapons and modern unmanned aerial vehicles was used to maximize the destruction of Russian armored vehicles.
