The Government of Canada has officially continued duty -free imports of Ukrainian goods until June 9, 2026. This is stated in a statement published on the government's government website.
The decision was made against the backdrop of continuing support of Ukraine, which was recently confirmed by the ministers of finance and the head of the central banks of the G7 countries. Canada noted that this step is aimed at mitigating the economic consequences of the war, in particular - difficulties with exports caused by Russian aggression with the participation of Belarus.
The Canadian government emphasized that the country remains joint and several with the Ukrainian people in the struggle for independence, territorial integrity and democratic values.
The previous regime, imposed in June 2022, allowed Ukraine to export goods to more than $ 35 million to Canada, of which $ 8.5 million would be paid as a duty. Now Ukrainian business will save more than $ 1.2 million in the next year.
Canada also confirmed that it will continue military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. The duty -free regime is one of the steps towards deepening bilateral cooperation and the restoration of the Ukrainian economy.
