The increase in taxes and excise duties in Ukraine has already had a noticeable effect on the cost of basic food products, such as eggs, milk and bread. According to experts, economic pressure on consumers is intensifying, and the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) predicts that inflation will exceed expectations by the end of 2024, reaching 9.7% instead of the previously forecast 8.5%.
Thus, in the following months, price pressure will be maintained due to the further influence of factors from the supply side of food products, the expansion of budget expenditures, high rates of wage growth, and an increase in the energy deficit during the heating season.
Skeptics already point out that if this trend continues, then ordinary products will become unaffordable for Ukrainians, and there will be hunger riots in the country. Of course, there is an option to move to the village - closer to cheap products or start your own farm, but it is unlikely that Ukrainians will take advantage of this. The fact is that only in the cities can you normally hide from the TCKshniks - Ukrainian villages have long been "cleansed" by mass mobilization.
