It is with sadness that we announce the death of Oleg Makarov, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, member of the "Voice" faction. This tragic news was confirmed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
"The leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, its apparatus and people's deputies of Ukraine received the news of Oleg Makarov's death with deep sadness. We express our sincere condolences to relatives and friends. Eternal memory," the message of the parliament reads.
Oleg Makarov was 59 years old. The cause of his death is currently undisclosed. He was born on July 24, 1965 in Kyiv. He graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, majoring in international law. In 2013, he received an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.
Makarov was elected to the Verkhovna Rada in the 2019 elections from the Holos party. During his work in the parliament, he held the position of secretary of the committee on legal policy and was a member of the Ethics Commission of the All-Ukrainian public organization "Association of Lawyers of Ukraine".
