Early in the morning of April 19, Nataliya Humenyuk was removed from the position of head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defense Forces. This was reported on Facebook by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted rotational measures regarding the head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defense Forces," the message reads.
Thus, the General Staff decided to end the business trip and exclude Humenyuk from the membership of this group from April 19. It is not yet known who will replace her in this position. The selection of the appropriate specialist is ongoing.
In addition, the Center for Strategic Communications of the Defense Forces of the South will continue to work as usual and will ensure cooperation with media that have the appropriate accreditation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that on April 16, a statement from the community of journalists "Movement "Media for Informed Choice" appeared on the portal of the Institute of Mass Information, in which media persons complained about the restriction of their access to the southern front. Journalists pointed out that this makes it difficult to bring to the public the crimes committed by the occupiers. Therefore, they made a proposal to dismiss Nataliya Gumenyuk from her position.
On April 17, Nataliya Gumenyuk responded to the calls of journalists, rejecting their accusations and noting that she acts in full compliance with Order No. 73, issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in March 2022 and amended in February 2024, and is also guided by other orders of the command.
