The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine dismissed Anatoly Loyfa, the head of the Main Directorate of Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure and Countering Terrorism Financing. This was reported in the SBU press service.
The reasons are not officially revealed, but the release occurred against the background of journalistic investigations that caused widespread resonance in society.
In early March, the Ukrainian media published the data that Loif, together with several other SBU staff, celebrated Konstantin Kolomiyts's birthday - a person who is guarded by the protection of businessman Sergei Portnov, connected with the Parimatch "Parimatch Podanctic Bookmaker. The investigation also emphasized that Loif could have ties with business representatives, which his service should be controlled.
In addition, journalists found that Anatoly Loif, who officially works as a college teacher in Transcarpathia, owns real estate in the capital and a suburbs worth more than UAH 16 million. These assets did not correspond to its income, which also raised the issue of the origin of the High -rank Subushnik family.
Although the Security Service of Ukraine did not publicly detail whether the investigation was the reason for the personnel decision, the release of Loif became a signal. It is regarded as a response of the SBU leadership to scandals that question the reputation of the special service.
