UN plans for 2024: $3 billion for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

In 2023, the UN mission spent 3 billion dollars on humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and the same amount is planned to be spent in 2024. This was reported by the representative of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Saviano Abreu.

"Despite the fact that the level of aid in Ukraine has decreased, it cannot be said that the support was insufficient. At the beginning of 2023, we needed $3.9 billion. Now we have received about 3 billion dollars in funding, including 2.5 billion that were allocated as part of appeals by humanitarian organizations for financial support, together with UN agencies, non-governmental, local and international organizations in Ukraine," Saviano Abreu noted.

According to the organization, in 2024 about 40% of the population of Ukraine, which is approximately 14.6 million people, will need help.
