Serial production of new SUVs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine begins

Ukraine is preparing to produce pickup trucks and SUVs for the needs of the Armed Forces. The plan envisages production at the Cherkasy Bus Plant "Ataman". This step will contribute to the effective execution of combat missions in the front and near-front areas, making it a significant event in the automotive industry in 2024. Oleksandr Dorosh, a member of the plant's board, noted that the plant is ready to produce cars that are already well-known on the market - Isuzu D-Max pickup trucks. At the moment, "Ataman" produces 67% of buses and 30% of trucks.

The planned Isuzu D-Max pickups will be equipped with a 1.9-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 120 to 163 hp, and their ground clearance will be 60 cm.
