Since the beginning of the new year, the weather in Ukraine has shown significant changes. Already on January 3, a significant cooling was observed in most of the territory of the country, which, according to forecasts, will continue in the future. On the weekend of January 4-5, temperatures will continue to drop, and precipitation in the form of snow or snow with rain is expected in many regions.
Saturday, January 4
The nearest night is expected to be -2...-5 degrees, in the southeast 0....+3 degrees.
"In the afternoon on Saturday in the western and northern regions -1....-3 degrees, in the central regions and in the east from -1....+2, in the southern part +2....+7 degrees," the forecaster said.
Everywhere, periodically, on January 4, wet snow will fall, in the south - with rain. In addition, a strong wind from the west and north-west directions is expected in Ukraine on Saturday.
Sunday, January 5
On the night of Sunday, January 5, it is already expected to be -4...-9 degrees in Ukraine, and in the afternoon on January 5, 0....-3 degrees of frost, in the south 0...-3 degrees of heat.
No precipitation is expected in most regions of Ukraine on Sunday, snow will fall only in the evening in the Carpathians and Transcarpathia.
Weekend weather in Kyiv
In Kyiv, Saturday, January 4, will be windy, with stormy gusts and occasional wet snow.
"At night -1...-3 degrees, during the day about -1. The weather on January 4 will be uncomfortable, because the strong wind, according to feelings, will lower the air temperature to -5...-8 degrees," said Didenko.
On Sunday, there will be no significant precipitation in Kyiv, the wind will calm down. But it gets even colder - -4...-7 degrees at night, 0...-2 degrees during the day.
Warming in Ukraine
Warming is expected in Ukraine from January 6, and then, from January 11, it will get colder again.
"During the cold weather, do not freeze, postpone large energy-consuming works for the period of January 6-10," the forecaster advised.
It should be noted that December 2024 turned out to be quite warm in Ukraine. In particular, the average monthly air temperature in December in Kyiv was equal to 0 degrees. This is 1.8 degrees higher than the climatic norm.
