Today, December 13, the Kyiv police began conducting searches in "Kyiv Metro", "Metrobuda" and structural subdivisions of KMDA as part of criminal proceedings under the article "Official Negligence" (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The police reported this on their official Facebook page.
According to the investigation, the inspection is aimed at determining the presence of miscalculations at the stages of design, construction and operation of the section of the subway where depressurization and flooding of the tunnel occurred. The purpose of the investigation is to identify the persons responsible for these events.
The combined subway stations were used as shelters during the air raid, and the crash forced thousands of people to find alternative routes around the city.
The police are also making efforts to secure land transport routes and facilitate the movement of Kyivans. Cooperation with other services and authorities includes redistribution of traffic and organization of ground transport.
Procedural management in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office. The investigation is aimed at establishing the causes and culprits of the events in the subway and taking appropriate measures.
