The police have suspected the owner of one of the largest infrastructure contractors of Ukraine-the company "Motoragistral-South". It is about the appropriation of more than UAH 240 million at the strategic project for the construction of the main water supply after the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
According to law enforcement officers, Alexander Boyko - the actual owner of the company received the suspicion. The investigation believes that he, together with the tops managers of the firm, officials of controlled structures and consultant, implemented a scheme of large -scale overestimation of the cost of construction of the water supply of Ingulets - the Southern reservoir, which was to provide Kryvyi horn with water.
What is the essence of the equipment: pipe products were resold through controlled companies with a margin of up to 50%. Part of the funds, according to the investigation, was withdrawn through fictitious firms and discussed. The total amount of losses probably exceeds UAH 240 million and can increase to several billion.
The police have already conducted more than 50 searches as part of the investigation. Five participants of the scheme were reported suspicion. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The company's reaction is expected: the "motorway-south" deny all the accusations, stating that the object is surrendered, and the case is an alleged attempt to "spin business" and redistribute the market.
However, the story with this company is not new. Since the time of "large construction" "motorway-south"-the flagship of road contracts, close to Kirill Tymoshenko. In 2022-2023, the company expanded the portfolio of government orders, receiving hundreds of millions of hryvnias for fortifications, critical infrastructure and renewal of objects.
Despite the reputational losses and a series of scandals, the structure continued to win tenders. But now, it seems, the circle is closed - and law enforcement officers have taken up the loudest player of the infrastructure market.
