Criminal police operatives of Sumy region detained a 35-year-old resident of the region who tried to realize the attempt to sell their newborn baby. The police press service reports.
As militiamen established, at the late pregnancy, a woman began to look for potential buyers for her baby. After her daughter was born on May 1, she became active - she made a preliminary agreement with a local resident from the Belopilsk community on the fictitious design of paternity and transfer of the child in exchange for monetary remuneration.
The first tranche woman received $ 1,000 in the form of a deposit. During the transfer of the principal amount - $ 29 thousand - law enforcement officers detained it in a procedural order.
Currently, a suspicion report under Part 3 of Art. 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (trafficking in human beings), which provides for imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years with confiscation of property.
Investigative actions are ongoing. The police establish all the circumstances of the event and the possible involvement of others in the committed.
