In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained two people suspected of setting fire to military vehicles and branches of Ukrposhta. The incidents occurred in Holosiyiv and Sviatoshyn districts. According to the investigation, the attackers acted separately, but carried out the orders of the Russian special services.
The first suspect was a 15-year-old boy who tried to "earn" money by performing criminal tasks. The second detainee is a 41-year-old car mechanic, a resident of Kyiv.
A preliminary investigation showed that both acted independently of each other, but were coordinated by Russian agents.
Places of fire
The objects of the attacks were:
- military vehicles;
- branches of Ukrposhta, which provide logistical and humanitarian needs.
The actions of the suspects were aimed not only at the destruction of property, but also at creating an atmosphere of chaos and fear among the local population.
Law enforcement quickly established the involvement of the detainees in the incidents. Investigations are now underway to find out all the details, including connections with Russian curators. The accused face serious punishment under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine related to sabotage and cooperation with foreign special services.
This is not the first time that Russian special services are trying to destabilize the situation in Ukraine by involving local residents in subversive activities. Usually socially vulnerable categories of the population or people who have financial difficulties are chosen to perform such tasks.
