Polish farmers are continuing their protest, which has led to the blocking of five border crossing points with Ukraine. This action has led to the formation of queues of about 1,250 trucks waiting to cross the border. The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, announced this on the morning broadcast on February 13.
According to him, protesters are blocking the checkpoints "Yagodyn", "Rava-Ruska", "Shehyni", "Ustyluh" and "Uhryniv". The queues are the longest at the checkpoints "Yagodyn" and "Rava-Ruska", where the largest number of trucks is expected.
The protest began on February 9, when Polish farmers began blocking border crossings. According to Demchenko, they initially blocked only two directions, but later expanded their actions to include three more crossing points.
The farmers' protest is related to a number of demands, including a ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine , a protest against European agricultural policy, and demands for support for livestock farming.
Police are currently investigating an incident where farmers stopped three Ukrainian trucks and dumped grain from them directly onto the road.
The Polish authorities continue to monitor the development of the situation and are looking for ways to resolve the conflict in order to ensure uninterrupted border crossing and the operation of checkpoints.
