Volodymyr Semenin, the head of the department of judicial protection of Lviv region, was exposed on a bribe of $ 4,000, which he demanded through his employment in the police. This was reported by law enforcement.
According to the investigation, Semenin promised a friend to help with employment in law enforcement agencies. When he realized that this was not possible, he suggested that he instead arrange a person in the judicial protection service (SCO). For this "service", the colonel demanded $ 4,000, which he ordered to transfer through his accomplice.
Both participants of the scheme have already reported suspicion under Article 368 (368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving an undue benefit in a particularly large amount).
Volodymyr Semenin has been headed by the Department of Judicial Protection Service of Lviv since 2019. Earlier, he worked in law enforcement agencies for many years: he was the head of the regional state traffic inspection in Ternopil, and in 2008 he headed the GAI of Lviv region. He also worked closely with the former head of the Lviv police, General Vasyl Posny. In 2008, Vasyl Pisny received a plot from Semenin for the construction of a housing as a gift.
In 2014, Semenina was appointed Chief of the GAI of Chernivtsi region, and pickets even took place against this purpose. Until August 2019, he was an assistant to the head of the National Police, and before and after this position he worked at the Security Police Department.
